Background

Knowledge equates to experience, and for most professionals that experience is manifested primarily in words. This makes effective document control and organization the most important part of any knowledge management strategy. Work product retrieval has become a cornerstone of many organizations. When you add geographically dispersed locations and the travel schedules of many of these same professionals, it's readily apparent that an easy and immediate access to company knowledge must be provided via the web.

There are many enterprise document management systems on the market, but few are successful upon implementation because the complexity of managing and using the system often makes it a bottomless receptacle of time and money. 'ODO' was originally developed by Ibridge to meet our own requirements for document management, forms management, and document distribution to employees and customers.

Product Description

ODO consists of three modules:

ODO Browser: Enables users to search and retrieve enterprise knowledge assets (including documents, forms, templates and images) using a standard web browser.
ODO Librarian: Gives you control over the complete life cycle of documents via a simple, easy to use Java^TM interface.
ODO Server: Gives multiple users shared access to the centralized document repository. It is based on SQL DBMS and Web-server technologies.

ODO Librarian is a cross-platform, written in Java^TM. The Librarian maintains complete control over users, assets and privileges.

ODO Server executes on low-cost, low maintenance LINUX platform.

ODO Browser was designed with the casual user in mind (e.g. no training required).

ODO lets you browse, retrieve and manage documents in an environment that works the way you do.

ODO Browser provides access to the complete knowledge library from any web browser.

ODO has a full suite of security controls. Document access is strictly controlled, based on user and document security settings.

Because “ODO Browser” is web based, it can be used to distribute documents to clients and other organizations as well as internally.
